New Standard: IPC-2152 "Standard for Determining Current-carrying Capacity in Printed Board Design" (Oct 13, 2009)

IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries released IPC-2152, "Standard for Determining Current-Carrying Capacity in Printed Board Design." The 97-page document sets a standard for determining the appropriate sizes of internal and external conductors as a function of the current-carrying capacity required and the acceptable conductor temperature rise.

New Products for PCB Design and Device Programming (Aug 3, 2009)

PCB Designer's Notebook: Overcoming Imaging Challenges for High-density Circuits (May 19, 2009)
By Vern Solberg Designers often face increasing product functionality without the luxury of increasing board size. One option is implementation of a higher-density circuit interconnect solution. Laser direct imaging (LDI) efficiently transfers the circuit pattern directly onto a photoresist-coated panel, eliminating traditional photo tools. Benefits include time and costs savings, quality, and better registration than traditional contact printing fabrication methods.
