Micronics licenses technology to Honeywell

Jan. 3, 2005 — Micronics Inc., a Redwood, Washington-based provider of custom lab card design and development, announced it has granted Honeywell International Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-bearing, worldwide license to its microfluidics-based technologies for specified applications in flow cytometry.

The parties have collaborated for several years on medical monitoring applications under funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

In exchange for the rights granted by Micronics, Honeywell will pay an upfront license fee and development costs to Micronics. Honeywell also will pay royalties to Micronics on products sold that incorporate Micronics’ intellectual property in Honeywell’s licensed field of use. Additional financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Ardesta, an investor in Small Times Media, is also an investor in Micronics.
