July 27, 2011 -- ATMI's SVP/CTO, Larry Dubois, discusses the company’s approach to achieving 'green' chemistries for wafer fab. "ATMI takes a 3-pronged approach,” he said: “1) it has to work at least as well as what's out there, if not better; 2) it can't cost any more than what's out there; and 3) it has to be more sustainable (less waste, less hazard for the users, and better for the environment)."
Dubois speaks from SEMICON West 2011, earlier this month in San Francisco, CA.
The company is also making its first foray into the LED materials market with its chemical vapor deposition (CVD) precursors. Dubois discusses the challenges, which include different requirements and needs than semiconductor chips in the manufacturing environment, and garnering name recognition.
