Applied Energy Systems building new semiconductor gas equipment plant

Applied Energy Systems Inc. Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing and Technology (SEMAT) Center

September 30, 2011 -- Gas equipment maker Applied Energy Systems Inc. is breaking ground on its Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing and Technology (SEMAT) Center, in a ceremony on October 5, 2011. The SEMAT Center will manufacture leading edge gas source and distribution systems for semiconductor manufacturing.

The company is expanding in Malvern, PA, where it has operated since 1985. The new facility is adjacent to Applied Energy Systems' current building.

The new SEMAT Center is part of Applied Energy' SEMI-GAS Systems Division. The 16,000sq.ft., two-story facility will include a Class 100 clean room and engineering center. LED lighting and solar panels are among the energy efficient aspects of the new structure. The building is projected to cost $2.5 million, creating new construction jobs and jobs within the company once completed.
